Renate Martin and Andreas Donhauser
Renate Martin and Andreas Donhauser make up the design team donmartin supersets. They both studied architecture at the Technical University and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. They are active internationally as set and costume designers for feature films, operas, plays, videos and exhibitions.
They have collaborated with director Michael Sturminger for many years, creating numerous stage and costume designs, including at the opera houses in Zurich and Graz, the Theater an der Wien, the Vienna State Opera, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Salzburg Festival, the Klagenfurt City Theatre, the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Festival, the Bregenz Festival and the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, as well as for the feature films Hurensohn and Casanova Variations.
donmartin supersets designed Tobias Moretti’s production of La finta giardiniera as well as Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s Idomeneo and Philipp Harnoncourt’s Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots and Der Rosenkavalier. In film, they have worked with directors such as Wolfgang Murnberger (Ich gelobe, Der Knochenmann, Silentium, Komm süßer Tod, Das ewige Leben), Michael Glawogger (Contact High), Ulrich Seidl (Import/Export, Hundstage, Paradies Trilogy), Florian Flicker (Halbe Welt), Michael Kreihsl (Charms Zwischenfälle) and Michael Ostrowski/Helmut Köpping (Hotel Rock’n’Roll).
