Anja Kampe studied at the Dresden College of Music Carl Maria von Weber and at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Giuseppe Verdi di Torino. Her performance as Sieglinde at the Washington National Opera in 2003 marked her international breakthrough. Since then, guest engagements have taken her to the state operas of Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna, to the Teatro alla Scala, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the BBC Proms and the Bayreuth Festival, among others. Her repertoire includes roles such as Senta (Der fliegende Holländer), Kundry (Parsifal), Elsa (Lohengrin), Leonore (Fidelio), Isolde (Tristan und Isolde) as well as the title roles in Tosca and Jenůfa. In 2018 she was given the title of Bavarian Kammersängerin. Anja Kampe made her Salzburg Easter Festival debut in 2017, in the role of Brünnhilde (Die Walküre).
