Adrian Eröd studied at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna, where his teachers included Walter Berry. For many years he has thrilled both public and press alike, both at the Vienna State Opera and internationally. His great success performing Beckmesser (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) under Christian Thielemann led to invitations to sing the role in Bayreuth, Zurich, Cologne, Leipzig, Tokyo and Amsterdam.

His other roles in Vienna included Loge (Das Rheingold), Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), the title role in Billy Budd, Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Valentin (Faust), Albert (Werther), Olivier (Capriccio) and Jason (Aribert Reimann’s Medea). He sang the role of Shylock in the world premiere of André Tchaikowsky’s The Merchant of Venice at the 2013 Bregenz Festival. In 2014 he made his Salzburg Festival debut as Faninal (Der Rosenkavalier). Other guest engagements have taken him to Dresden, Milan, Venice, Paris, Houston, Chicago, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Tokyo.

Adrian Eröd is also a successful concert artist. He has appeared under Riccardo Muti and Nikolaus Harnoncourt with the Vienna Philharmonic and under Sir Simon Rattle and Christian Thielemann with the Berliner Philharmoniker. As a Lieder singer, he regularly collaborates with pianist Helmut Deutsch.
