Ambrogio Maestri sings the role of Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana in 2015
The top-ranking cast for next year’s opera production has been completed: The renowned baritone Ambrogio Maestri - who is particular well-known for his interpretation of the title role of Verdi'sFalstaff - has been engaged to sing the role of Alfio in Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana.
Ambrogio Maestri was born in Pavia. In 2001, he made his sensational debut at La Scala, Milan, performing Falstaff. From then on, he was invited to work with the most important conductors at leading international houses, including the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna Staatsoper.
