American violinist Hilary Hahn was born in Lexington, Virginia and grew up in Baltimore. She received her musical education at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, among others. Her busy concert schedule takes her to the most important concert halls in the US and throughout the world. Since September 2021 Hilary Hahn is the inaugural Chicago Symphony Orchestra Artist in Residence; she will continue in the role until July 2023. She is the recipient of numerous honours and awards and in 2001, she was named “America’s Best Young Classical Musician” by Time Magazine. A prolific recording artist, three of her albums have been awarded Grammys. Hilary Hahn will receive the Herbert von Karajan Prize during her appearance at the “Easter Festival in Autumn”.
