Volkswagen Group is the Main Sponsor of the Salzburg Easter Festival
Since 2013, the Salzburg Easter Festival has been working together with the Staatskapelle Dresden under the direction of Christian Thielemann. For many years now, the “Transparent Factory” in Dresden, which belongs to Volkswagen Group, has been an active partner of the Staatskapelle. In the course of further consolidating this collaboration, Volkswagen Group will now begin supporting the Salzburg Easter Festival and will thereby make a major contribution to maintaining this music event that is so rich in tradition.
Highest Musical Quality and Organisational Independence
This music festival was founded by Herbert von Karajan in 1967. Its opera productions and classical concerts make it one of the most internationally renowned events in the realm of classical music. Since Karajan, its artistic directors over the past decades have included exceptional artistic personalities such as Claudio Abbado and Sir Simon Rattle. Since it was founded, the core values of the Festival have been situated in the quality of its music and in its organisational independence, and these values remain paramount to the present day.
“With its international commitment to culture and art, Volkswagen Group offers sustained support so that the stage and the concert hall may become sources of inspiration. It is precisely such inspiration that the Salzburg Easter Festival has been offering for decades with its magnificent musical experiences. So we are very proud to be able to contribute next year to realising new musical highpoints for the Salzburg audience”, explains Benita von Maltzahn, Head of Cultural Engagement and Sponsoring, Volkswagen Group Communications.
